BOSON founder and CEO, Jan Grimbrandt, has assembled a team with a solid track record of industrial clean-tech hardware development and commercialisation. It is built on managers with 10-30 years of C-suite and senior experience in waste, Advanced Thermal Treatment (ATT), and execution; from SIEMENS, Mobotec, EER, SITA UK, Jernforsen, Infineon Technologies, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and others.
Jan and his teams have proven repeated success in a) identifying key trends and markets, b) commercialising complex technology and services, and c) executing and delivering quality and viable business models to the market.
Jan has already started and been instrumental in taking two successful industrial clean-tech startups to market. He was co-founder responsible for operations, sales, and business development for Altoptronic AB, a supplier of advanced tuneable diode laser process analysers. Altoptronic was acquired by Siemens AG and renamed to Siemens Laser Analytics AB.
Jan was co-founder and COO responsible for operations, sales, and business development also at Mobotec Europe AB, a company specialised in air pollution control through advanced primary methods to reduce NOx/SOx and converting fossil power plants to biomass. Mobotec was acquired by Nalco.
Liran Dor

Liran is an operative and manager with long experience within waste treatment, gasification, and Advanced Thermal Treatment – developing and proving performance of new technology. At BOSON he is responsible for all technology and development, and closely involved in commercial activities.
Liran has spent 15 years in advanced thermal treatment of waste, including serving as CTO of a waste ATT company in Israel, where he built and managed the team developing, executing, and operating the core technology demonstration plant in Israel.
Liran liaises with several technical institutes globally and has published many papers on the gasification and plasma technology.
Liran holds a degree in environmental engineering from the Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel.
Marcus Süllmann

Marcus is an international CFO and business partner with a proven record of delivering results and driving change in both SMEs and global multi-divisional businesses in telecom, FMCG, logistics, services and manufacturing industry.
Marcus has led finance from strategy and business plan formulation to group consolidation, from accounting, controlling, international taxation, treasury, M&A, to ERP and digitalisation. He has built and led world-class multinational teams and has solid experience in interacting on Board level in privately and listed companies.
Marcus has served as Group CFO and Head of Controlling for companies like Vodafone, Transcom, DHL Express, Kellogg’s and Tetra Pak. He has worked successfully in all significant EMEA, American and Asian locations.
Marcus holds a BSc in Business Administration and Economics with a concentration in Management Control. He has also taken executive courses at London Business School, The Wharton School and Thunderbird School of Global Management. Marcus speaks fluent German, English and Swedish and has knowledge in French and Dutch.
Prof Wlodzimierz Blasiak

BOSON’s co-founder Prof Wlodzimierz Blasiak is a highly respected expert and researcher within high temperature gasification and combustion. Prior to joining BOSON full time, he was also Professor of Energy & Furnace Technology at the Materials Science and Engineering Department at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. His main research subjects have been low-NOx combustion, design of high performance industrial furnaces, oxyfuel combustion and high temperature agent gasification (HTAG).
Prof Blasiak and his research team successfully built and proved the core technology that BOSON developed into the H3TAG biomass gasifier. Prof Blasiak He was awarded the ASME Westinghouse Gold Medal in 2010 by the industry, for his outstanding contributions in the field of advanced combustion technologies and his work as industrial consultant for advanced furnace design.
He has published more than 150 papers and also works as a reviewer for international journals. His research efforts have always been carried out in close collaboration with recognised partners from the power and steel industry in Europe, US, and Japan.
Linda Westers

Linda heads up Boson’s HSE function – a vital part of realising BOSON’s In My Back Yard vision. Linda is a technician by background with 10+ years of experience in process- and project engineering and design in the energy sector; with focus on HSE, HAZOP, and Risk Analysis.
Prior to Boson Energy, Linda has managed numerous projects within process risk analysis, process design, implementation and commissioning of a full-scale tire recycling plant based on a new pyrolysis process. Linda’s customers include Scandinavian Enviro Systems AB, Uddeholm AB, Nynäs AB.
Linda has taught 'Process and Energy' at a Technical School in Gothenburg in cooperation with PRC Engineering AB. Linda holds a degree in process plant design.
Heike Carl Zatterstrom

Heike is an entrepreneur with wide international communicator and analyst experience from trust-based industries such as security, research services, telecom, and trade services. He has worked with strategy and communications assignments in Scandinavia, W/E Europe, Middle East and Central America.
Prior to joining Boson, Heike worked as Benelux COO for India headquartered offshore research and analytics firm Evalueserve. Previous employers also include the AOL Europe, SSE Institute of International Business in Stockholm, the Swedish Trade Council in Russia and Securitas France.
Heike holds an MSc in Business and Economics with specialisation in Marketing and in Accounting and Managerial Finance from the Stockholm School of Economics and the Carlson School of Management in the US.

Richard has 40 years of experience managing businesses JVs, R&D, manufacturing, sales & marketing, corporate & business level strategy at Goodyear and latterly Royal Dutch Shell Group. Past non-executive board positions include Vivo Energy and Shell Vivo Lubricants, Shell Oil Products Company LLC, Equilon Enterprises LLC, Pennzoil-Quaker State Company. As a leader in corporate global M&A activities; Richard is accountable for over 50 transactions from $10m to $10bn+ with different counterparty types such as major corporations, nationalised enterprises, small businesses, family companies and private equity firms.
Richard has advised a number of corporate boards and C-Suite Executives in the Downstream Oil, Chemicals and energy intensive industries focusing on strategy and corporate transformations ahead of the energy transition. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and Chair of its Energy Transition Group, a Fellow of the Energy Institute, a member of Chatham House (Royal Institute of International Affairs), and a member of Chapter Zero (a community of non-executive directors with expertise in the Energy Transition). On the philanthropic side, Richard has served as the Chairman and Trustee of the London Chamber Orchestra Trust, as well providing annual Oblath International Enrichment Scholarships to six undergraduates a year from the University of Nottingham allowing them to undertake study opportunities overseas.

Staffan is a serial technology entrepreneur that has been instrumental in taking six companies to IPO. He has 30 years of unique hands-on operational experience with founding, leading, building, and financing international tech companies funded by venture capital. These companies include Heliospectra, ZINZINO, Procera Networks, WaveMarket/Locations Labs, Yield, Spotfire and AppGate. Staffan’s experience includes international marketing and sales, buy-outs, corporate finance, M&A and turnarounds.
On the financing side, Staffan has financed, set up and managed VC funds and is also a hands-on real estate developer building up a portfolio of rental properties and development projects.
Staffan has studied MSc in Engineering from Chalmers University and an MBA from INSEAD.
